I am very bummed out. I have diabetes and after reading of all the wonderful success that others have had, I started using the ACV. I take 2 TBS in 8 oz. of water 3x a day. (I am also on the prescription drug Metformin 500mg 2x a day for the diabetes). Anyway, I haven't seen any difference in my blood sugar readings nor in my BP readings. I have even switched to an organic ACV. Now in some ways, I am feeling better-more energetic and less nasal congestion, but why am I not seeing improvement for the diabetes or BP? It has me feeling truly sad.
Thank you for any advice.

I have type 2 diabetes since 2003. In the monrings my Blood sugar would be at 117 to 135. I am on Metformin 500 twice per say. Sine the past 2 full weeks I have been taking Molasse Blackstrap and ACV 3x days. In the mornigs my blood sugar is 80-81 mid mornings 70-71 - evening 60-65. I have not taken metformin for past the last 2 weeks, and accordingly with this result I am not going to reverse to metformin- It work wonders for me. It's a real blessing from the Lord. Since I have been taking it I have place various family members on it,
This is great - just great. Never mind the taste - just drink it- it's your health.

recently, I could not walk on my left foot. I was unable to put my foot on the ground and apply any body weight too it.I tried everything;anti-inflammatories, etc. I even bought $400.00 pair of shoes. I was desperate. I started taking apple cider vinegar and within two days major relief. I am typeII diabetic. I can only assume I was very acidic and the vinegar countered that. I was taking vitamin c awhile ago but stopped for some reason. with the vinegar I also have more energy. I have not tested my sugars but feel 100% better.

I have used Apple Cider Vinegar for various reasons. And with good results. But people(my self included) with Kidney problems should be careful of using to much Apple Cider Vinegar it can cause bleeding from the kidneys. It would be best to start out using a smaller amount to see how well you tolerate. Then slowly increase the amount you use. Thanks to all who post here.

I too have been having the same problem with my left leg and started taking ACV twice daily. I am sure it will restore me to my old self- health. Thank you EC!

I am a Type II Diabetic and I am 43 years old. I have been of Medication for 3 years now and I am managing my Diabetes by eating a healthy diet and exercise. I am writing to commend you folks and tell you that Apple Cider Vinegar works wonders in terms of controlling my blood sugar levels, its amazing. As awful as it tastes the benefits are truly amazing. Start of with 1 teaspoon and record the results and take as many times as needed otherwise you may lower you blood sugar levels to low.

i sure do agree that if you are diabetic that you need to start slowly with the ACV. when i first started using it i used 1 tablespoon and it lowered my blood sugar to 40 by the afternoon. i actually lowered my dose and even at 1 teaspoon it was lowering my blood sugar too much. i am on insulin and i suspect that if i could handle 1 tablespoon or 2 of ACV that i could actually manage to get off insulin. i had to lower my insulin dose - but at the 1 tablespoon or even 1 teaspoon dose - it gave me bad gas and bloating and i ended up stopping and using lime juice instead. the lime juice also has drastic blood sugar lowering properties - but since the ACV made me feel better everywhere except my bloating and gas - i am now using it again in much smaller doses - 1/3 teaspoon mixed with a liter of water 2 or 3 x a day. this is still lowering my blood sugar but does not make my teeth sensitive or give me gas. just be careful not to take too much ACV too fast!!! it is amazing stuff!!!

I am taking approx. 1tsp blackstrap mol. and 2tsp. of acv 2x's a day. for a month. I recently had my blood sugar done and it is @ 135. I do not know what it was before all of this but, will the molassas be affecting my blood sugar levels?

Do I need to take more acv for the higher blood sugar levels? I weigh about 250, and I know I am over-weight, actually probably obesse. no exercise to speak of . Any advice would be very appericated. Thanks a lot Isn't this site just the "BOMB"?

Angela replies to Dave ([email protected]) from Friend, Ne. USA, yes Dave the blackstrap molasses is keeping your bloodsugar up. And you are killing yourself not exercising. Start our walking only 5-10 minutes for a week, then add 2-5 minutes each week until you gradually work up to 45 minutes to an hour a day. Then gradually start a VERY slow jog for a minute or two each day of your walking time slowly increasing that like you did the walking. You should also start some form of limbering exercise and some very light weight lifting likewise gradually increasing the difficulty of them. Get yourself a copy of Dr. Gabriel Cousens book, "There is a Cure for Diabetes" and go on the diet. You could also start taking chromium picolinate and a b complex supplement. This is your life you are risking not taking care of yourself. My husband weighed 275 and had astronomically high blood sugar levels. He is now 215 pounds and is in normal blood sugar ranges. He does all of the above along with some additional supplements you will learn about if you read the above book. Hope this helps.

It is not the sugar in Black Strap Molassas that causes problems for diabetics. It is the iron. The iron will mess your glucose up for weeks. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Been there, done that.

wow! good to see someone else say this! i am a diabetic on insulin and i had a very bad reaction to only 1 teaspoon of organic blackstrap molasses in a cup of tea! it took me a week or so to get my blood sugar to go down to normal! i couldn't believe that the molasses did it - so i tried it again! same reaction! i was thinking maybe it was the naturally occuring sulfates or the iron.

BUT - i have since found that i CAN use molasses if i use 1/2 a teaspoon mixed in a smoothie! i don't know why this is - but maybe it is because i have so many other ingredients in my smoothies that my body sees the molasses differently. before this i noticed that i could eat molasses in whole wheat cookies and so decided to try it in my smoothies. i am still amazed that i can eat it at all!

for dave: 135 is not high blood sugar - esp. if you have just eaten. like another poster wrote if you will just start walking it will go back to normal. this is a good time to nip it in the bud! start exercising NOW!

I will tell my husband to take apple cider vinegar on a daily basis. I had a mailer sent t to me about Diabetes & acv. The first time I tried it, I took my blood count before dinner. We ate, pasta, bread, chicken, & to top it off, a pie made of yams! Well, we finished dinner & began to clean up, & started to get shaky, I said to myself "no way", I was feeling so sick that I took my blood count again, it was 62! that was only less that was 45 minutes. try it take blood count before & after 1 hr., it really works, buy organic, unfiltered, keep in frig. for palatability, it doesn't burn like regular acv. THANKS!!!

I have recently been diagnosed with Diabetes. My blood sugar levels are fairly high in the mornings, averaging high 100-200. I have started the Apple Cider Vinegar rituals and see some improvements in my energy and sugar level. I take a cup of water (8 0z.) with 2 tablespoons of ACV. Is my measurement right? I dont want to overdilute the ACV. Thanks for the site! very informative.

I am a 44 yr old female with Type 2 diabetes, HBP and osteoarthritis. I had almost given up on myself until 2 months ago. I found your site and started taking ACV hoping for relief from arthritis pain (2 tbs 3x a day mixed with apple juice). The first 3 days were rough, I felt pretty bad. Then I started feeling better. Not only has ACV helped ease the arthritis pain, but it has also lowered my blood pressure and my blood sugar levels have also dropped! My average was 135 and it is now 108! I've even lost some weight! I feel like I have a new found energy and my sleep patterns have improved! I don't have food cravings anymore and my complexion looks great too. I can't say enough about how ACV has helped me. I have told several of my friends about this site. They too are having success with many of the remedies posted here. May I also say that I started Black Strap Molasses at the same time (1 tbs once a day with 5 oz milk). My period was very heavy with lots of large clots and lasted for almost 2 weeks. I was always weak and light-headed during my period. I am happy to report that my last period was only 7 days! The first 3 days were still heavy but it tapered off to normal. The light-headed feeling is gone too. I am so glad I found this website. I feel like I am becoming the person I used to be when I was younger and I am very happy with the changes.

I'm glad to hear this works for heavy periods. Red raspberry leaf tea also works right away. Take two cups a day, which can be sweetened with stevia and your period should normalize right away. You can take it a few days before youu period for best results, but it also works during.

ACV AND BSM are wonderful remedies. i just wanted to caution you to be sure to brush your teeth well after using bsm since it is very sticky and acid and will coat your teeth.

I am surprised you have no stories about diabetes. I have a friend who uses ACV to bring his blood sugar down from 400.

I've had diabetes for several years, put on insulin some months ago. Sugars still hitting average of mid-300's all the time, day and night, A1C well over 8. BP about 145/90, cholesterol low 200's. Started raw, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with "the mother" couple of months ago. Unbelieveable. With absolutely no other changes, sugars hover about 100, A1C 6.0, BP 122/80, cholesterol 122. No more joint pain- I quit my daily dose of 2 Aleve tabs. Now I'll begin backing off insulin and other meds to see if I can maintain the good numbers. I am dumbfounded by this, and people think I'm nuts. My doctor is absolutely ecstatic. I use a "shot" of the ACV (I use _______s) in about 6 ounces of ice cold purified water morning and evening. (Make sure you mix the bottle well before pouring, to blend in the sediment on the bottom of the jar)

Apple cider vinegar: Recently been diagonised with diabetes, put on medication, low carb diets and GI plus daily exercise I still found it very hard to obtain areasonable sugar levels. Been frustrated about the whole issue I started reserching into it until I found the effect ACV has on your digestive system (reduced gastric dumping rate) and its effects on glicermic levels. To cut a long story short I started taking ACV in water with every carb loaded meal, the result has been stunning, I dont take tablets any more. On the same hand I dont go crasy with food, I always watch the GI,GL and never miss the ACV no matter whare I go. THE IMPORTANT THING IS IT MUST BE TAKEN WITH THE CARB LOADED MEALS, hope you get the same results I have.

Apple cider vinegar has been a prayer answered from God to stabilize the recent spikes in my blood sugar. For the past 11 years I have successfully controlled my Type 2 diabetes thru diet and supplements. About a month ago I started drinking 1-2 tbsp in a glass of water right before a meal, and I have noticed an amazing difference, with readings below 101. I feel more alive with fewer aches and pains. I am concerned about the effects on my dental health and plan to brush more frequently. But on the whole, I feel like I have been given a new outlook on life. It is very important to me to be in control of my health and keep my diabetes under control. Now with ACV, I can go on and enjoy life! God bless.

I'm one of those people who believe that drug companies are not out to cure diseases but to come up with drugs to ONLY control them so we're stuck buying them for a lifetime. After my doctor had me wear a blood pressure device for 24 hours I was told my blood pressure was high and he put me on (Micardis?). 2 months later on Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 5-06 I had a stroke. I wish I could give you numbers and readings but I don't have them. 14 years ago I was told I was a diabetic and needed to control it with diet which I never really did. Anyway after the stroke my doctor had me go get my blood tested for almost everything sugarwise. He told me of bad numbers on most everything. Then a friend told me about Apple Cider Vinegar and although it's not the tastiest thing I started taking a drink of Heinz ACV every morning. That started about 6 months ago. On my last Dr. appointment going over another blood sugar test he wanted to know how much I was exercising because my blood pressure was good and so were all my sugar numbers plus I'm almost under 200 pounds for the first time in ??? I'm at 203 with a high of 232 and haven't changed a thing in my lifestyle. I haven't exercised on a regular basis since giving up softball at the age of 46 four years ago. ACV has made a believer of me. Now if I could just pour it on my head and regrow my hair.

Actually, you can use it on your head to regrow your hair! I had this idea several months ago and, although not on a daily basis, my husband now has fine hairs growing on top which now need to be cut with the rest of his hair. A new hairline is even visible! Every night before bed he uses unfiltered, unpasteurized ACV on a cotton ball and rubs it on top. Recently he has started drinking two tsp with organic lemonade twice daily and been eating more alkaline foods and there has been an increase in the rate of growth and in the thickness of the hairs. We are now looking into natural home remedies for blocking DHT (excess DHT has been linked to hair loss) and have found that green tea, pumpkin seed oil, emu oil, nettles, pygeum, and saw palmetto are among some of the natural DHT blockers; however, we have yet to try these.
