Happy holidays to our amazing worldwide community!
Apologies for the glitches you are experiencing lately. If, when you visit EC, pages are overly slow to load or you get a message that the server lost it's connection, can you please either send us a post or an email ([email protected]) with the words:
Please Reboot the Server!
When a lot of people start searching on the site, it ties up connections between databases and things can go south. Hopefully we won't have this constant issue with the new site. Rebooting the server takes the site offline a few minutes but speeds everything up.
Now for news on the new site...
We finally figured out how display all your amazing posts by creating sub-pages for them on the new site. Once we create a sub-page for every remedy listed on an ailment page, we then have to gather all the posts with the same title (ie, "apple cider vinegar") and move them onto the new sub-page. Well over 100,000 posts are being moved, a few at a time. Because it's very easy to make a mistake and lose posts with just one click, I am the one moving most posts. I have managed to finish about 10 ailment and remedy pages so far since Sunday. That may not seem like a lot, but a total of several hundred sub-pages have been created and over 5,000 posts have been moved! A daunting job but it keeps moving forward.
Our plan is to go live with the new site as soon as we can and then keep moving posts onto the new sub-pages. Otherwise you guys will be waiting a few months for me to finish moving all the posts onto their own special new pages.
Thanks for all your positive vibes. Wishing you a very happy holiday week!
Yea! We fixed our "Cures Reported" counter just now and you'll see that the number has jumped from 34,700 to 36,976 because several thousand 5 and 4 star-rated posts were missing from the total number due to a programming glitch that tallied our old rating system of YEAS instead of our new-ish 5 star rating system.
KT from the USA, thank you so much for noticing and reporting that not only was our Cures Reported number NOT going up, but was occasionally going down!
We are thrilled to tell you that you can now login to Earth Clinic using your Facebook account!
If you have already created an account on Earth Clinic and want to make sure all your posts are in the same place, please make sure to use the same email address that you use for your Facebook account.
If you are using another email address and would like to change it to match the email you use for Facebook, login to Earth Clinic the usual way (don't use the Facebook button) and request an email change under "My Account".
Just wanted to let you know that Ted's site has been redesigned and now matches the design of EC main site instead of being confusingly different! We hope you think it's an improvement as we tried to tidy it up. If you find any glitches (especially on your mobile devices), please let us know! Thanks much.
We are pleased to announce that we have just uploaded our new desktop design which has been several months in the making! We hope you will like the new design and be able to find important information quickly.
If you are having issues with how things look on your browser, please try clearing your browser history and cache. If that doesn't help, please let us know what problem you are having. There may be a few glitches here and there this week, so apologies in advance while we tidy things up!
Ted's site and our Q&A site will upgrade to the new design and we hope to have those sites ready soon.

Can you please make a category for menstrual migraine. I feel it needs it own category because it's a different type of migraine. Thank you!!
EC: Thanks for the suggestion, Sunny! New page is here... remedy feedback requested!
After a decade in Atlanta, Earth Clinic has recently relocated back to Los Angeles. We're very happy to be back in warm and sunny Southern California!
Additionally, our wonderful programmer has made recent changes to the account section of Earth Clinic, so when you login to your account, you should now be able to sort through posts you've saved by ailment, remedy, or by ascending/descending date. If you have any additional requests as far as what you'd like to see in your account, please tell us. It's very helpful to get your feedback!

Many thanks to our long-time contributor Larry from Fairfax, VA for asking us in early June to add the email function back to posts. Besides emailing a post to a family member or friend, you can now share individual posts on Facebook and Twitter!
Good morning everyone! We hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
We've decided to move Earth Clinic's rating system to a 5 star system. Our current rating system has become outdated after 16 years and can be very confusing to first-timers to the site. Some of our EC's friends have told us recently when we asked that they've always hated YEA/NAY but didn't dare to say! Ha ha. Well, we're now ready to make a change!
With a 5 star rating system, we'll need to convert all posts that have Yea/Nay/etc ratings on the site. Would you please let us know if you agree with the below? Your help will be greatly appreciated!
These are the ratings we currently have on EC:
Better But Not Cured
Better But With Side Effects
Death Reported (pets vaccination section only)
We would convert as follows:
5 Stars - all "Yeas" on the site
4 Stars - all "Better but not Cured" on the site
3 Stars - all "Worked Temporarily" and "Better But With Side Effects" posts
2 Stars - all "Nay" posts
1 Star - all "Warning! " or "Side Effects" posts
Create a Skull and Crossbones symbol - for "Death Reported"
Our contact us form would then offer the following simple choices:
5 Stars Cured
4 Stars Better but not cured
3 Stars It's okay
2 Stars I don't like it
1 Star Side Effects/Warning!
Please let us know what you think or if you have any other ideas. We're very open to suggestions before making this huge change.
Earth Clinic's very first app for Android devices is now available and it's FREE! Be the first to download our new app and let us know what you think! In a couple months we'll have an app ready for iPhones.
It appears I've missed some information about the "Research" option now available by the "Follow" option. Could you please advise about this??
EC: Hi KT,
Yes, last week we added a link button under each post to Amazon.com. Please read why we did it here.
Our programmer made an update to Earth Clinic yesterday and if you are logged in, you can now indicate if you love a post! Clicking on the heart is not meant to be a Facebook "like", it's meant to be a "I love this post!", which is why it's a heart and not a thumbs up icon.
We see lots of amazing, detailed replies on the Latest Posts page every day and have been looking forward to adding this feature to Earth Clinic so that the wonderful contributors who take time to write a reply can get a little acknowledgement for their time and effort.
Our new feature may have a few glitches, but we should have those fixed by Monday.
You will need to clear your browser history if things look "off". Flag and Follow should not be underlined. If you've cleared your history and are loading the new files, Flag and Follow will now only pop up as you scroll over a post. The only two words you should see at the bottom of a post is Like and Reply.
EDIT YOUR POST
Ever posted something and discovered, oops, it really needs to be fixed? Well, we are thrilled to report that you can now edit your post! To do so, you must be logged into your account. Go to "Your Feedback" and locate the post to be edited. You will see an edit link by your post. Edit and click submit.
The newly edited post will have to be approved again by our moderators (to prevent spam and dangerous links), so your revised post will not appear instantaneously.
Thank you Bill Thompson for requesting this feature!
SHOW THE LOVE
Ever wanted to thank one of our frequent contributors who help people tirelessly, day in and day out? Now you can via a PayPal Donation. In case you haven't noticed it at the top of the site where there's a dropdown menu, we have a donations page where you can make a PayPal donation in any amount to TimH from Kentucky, Mama to Many from Tennessee, Ted from Bangkok or Bill Thompson from the Philippines.
Yes, there are a few frequent contributor names missing on this page. That's because the contributor either declined the offer to be listed or has never submitted a post with an email address, so we have no way of contacting them. Yep, that's right, there are some contributors on Earth Clinic who have sent in hundreds of posts over the years without ever adding an email address to a post!
Here's the page: http://www.earthclinic.com/donations.html
Just wanted to let you know that we just added a new feature to Earth Clinic called "Editor's Choice". Ailment by ailment, we will be reviewing and selecting the most positive, detailed and informative cures on the site and giving them the Editor's Choice label. You will see Editor's Choice links appearing at the top of our Table of Contents menu once we locate the outstanding posts.
If you see happen to come across an amazing post on the site detailing a cure, please nominate it for Editor's Choice by clicking on the icon located at the bottom of the post (next to Print, Email and Watch). Once you nominate a post, it will be placed in our database for the moderators to review. We have hundreds of thousands of posts on the site to be reviewed, so any and all help you can give us in identifying superb posts will be greatly appreciated!
Please note that you will need to be logged in to nominate a post. Also, the "Nominate for Editor's Choice" icon will only be visible on the first post in a thread. Responses to a parent post cannot be nominated for Editor's Choice. Hope this makes sense.
