I have arthritis in the back & neck real bad along with herniated discs, but what I found is that capsules of boron a supplement, taking a loading dose at first 4-5 time usual dose for 4-7 days, combined with DMSO applied topically, takes away the pain far more than the pain killer and muscle relaxant I was prescribed. I also had an epidermal to try to calm the pain, and it worked OK, but the pain just keeps coming back, normal with an epidermal, it is not permanent.

It also took away the severe headaches I started to get after the epidermal, another common side effect.

Again the DMSO and boron work better than the scripts. You can add anything else you like, including turmeric, which also helps quite a bit but don`t count on the recommended dose. You might have to up the amount according to your own needs, but all I can say is it works for me and better than any script I have been given.

Then take a dose now and then if any reoccurrence. Good for tone elasticity in body, joints, bones, as well as for teeth and gums.

I am taking calcium and magnesium gluconates for osterporosis. I am a 71-yr-old female, and have related symptoms--pain, stiffness, and don't take any meds. I have been having great success taking this supplement which I mix in lemon juice, apple cider vinegar or vit.C, add hot H2O and honey. After only a week, I no longer have pain in my wrists in yoga class. I now sleep better and can better withstand stresses w/o shaking. I plan to take the citrate forms in the future, as they are better absorbed. I also plan to resume x-country running and other activities which I've had to quit from pain. These minerals are giving me my life back.

Castor Oil for Arthritis

Helps me take fewer OTC meds on days I overdo it.

I started using organic castor oil on my knees and inner elbows. I rub a lot of oil on my knees and place plastic wrap on them and over them with semi lightweight knee sleeves. I add more oil to it a few times during the day.

It's been amazing, more than I hoped for. I used castor oil in 2005 to save my gallbladder, and use it on the gallbladder liver area off and on even to this day.

Worth a try.. I can NOW GET UP from my computer without a cane and without my knees locking up on me for sitting there too long.

Cayenne Pepper Infused Oil (Rob's Formula)

Cayenne oil is not nearly as irritating to the skin as capsaicin creams, and I use it topically for chest congestion, lower back pain, neuralgia, sciatica, muscle aches, fibromyalgia and arthritis pain. For quick headache relief, massage the oil, or a cayenne balm across the temples. Cayenne oil can also help to clear psoriasis and deter itching.

Cautions: Cayenne oil contains capsaicin, which causes a burning/heat sensation. This is normal and should decrease with repeated use capsaicin only causes the sensation of heat, not real damage to tissues. Test your oil on a small patch of skin to gauge its effects before applying to wide areas.

Ingredients: Cayenne Pepper, Ginger, Peanut Oil as Carrier oil * Additions: wintergreen, eucalyptus, peppermint or rosemary essential oils.

Recipe Instructions:

This formula is a cold infusion method. Capsaicin is destroyed by heating so I prefer this method. There are ways the speed up the process but to complex for this tutorial.

1. The ratio of oil to pepper will depend on the hotness of the peppers, and your own preferences, a good ratio is 1 part powder to 4 parts oil. I use a one pint mason jar. I put 3 TBSP Cayenne powder and 2 TBSP Ginger powder into the mason jar. Top off jar with peanut oil to within 1 inch from top. Place lid on mason jar.

2. Shake jar every day for 2 weeks.

3. After the 2 weeks, allow jar to set for 3 days undisturbed so the pulp settles to the bottom. Decant the clear oil off the top.

Rub this oil into painful areas 3x/daily.

I read that cayenne pepper could alleviate excruciating pain of arthritis that I had in two fingers on my left hand. I'd awaken daily in pain to find my pinky and ring finger locked in a bent position and it would hurt very much to straighten. I would run hot water over them and it would get worse as weeks went on. I had been playing the piano several hours daily and most likely was the cause of this very painful arthritis, a common piano players ailment that if left unchecked would end my piano playing and use of two fingers. My fingers were dying it seemed. I met several ex-piano players who had exactly the same symptoms and quit playing because of the pain. Anyway, after reading Edgar Cayce's remedies with topical use of Castor Oil I thought it would be good to mix the Cayenne Pepper with Castor Oil so the mixture would stick to my fingers. So before bedtime, I'd take a paper hand towel and cut it to about 10x6 inches, wet it and squeeze excess water out until just very damp, then fold it to 10x2 (triple thick); now I'd mix some cayenne into some castor oil until very orangey/red and smear it on the first four inches (to cover both sides of fingers) of the paper towel and also smear some on my fingers; then I'd wrap my fingers with this bandage and excess paper, and finally a rubber band not too tight holding it all together. Every night I'd do this and take it off in the morning and there was noticeable reduction in pain immediately first day and more use of my fingers and after three months I was 80% normal and within nine months I was completely healed.

I've been using finger supports for arthritis that you can buy rather than building your own, and I dip my fingers in castor oil and pull on the support. It does quite well for me, but your idea of cayenne included - well, I just now opened one of my cayenne capsules (I take a lot of such things) and dropped it into my castor oil. I love all this great information on Earth Clinic and am forever recommending it.

I feel like cayenne helps my heart or blood pressure, Now I have severely swollen knees from RA and now weak bones due to inactivity and years of prednisone/cortisone. I am looking forward to your cayenne and castor oil but on my knees. Oh please pray my knees become unstuck, I want to walk again!!!!

You might want to use a plastic wrap instead of a rubber band. It keeps from getting the castor oil and cayenne on the bed clothes. Just a suggestion.

I'm 74 have arthritis in my shoulder-can't afford the creams, when I found out the main ingreatent was the same as cayenne pepper, I stared buying hot sauce that is made from aged cayennes, rub it on my shoulder couple times a day, it stains your clothing, but sure helps, and it is a lot cheaper.

For arthritis, take a capsule of cayenne and a capsule of turmeric, and a pinch of pepper after every meal...You should see a difference in less than a week...

I saw the reply about living to 150...I don't know about that but I'm living to 120 and will make the decision to go further at that point...Drugs will shorten your life...Educate yourself for your sake and your family's sake.

I'm trying this tonight for my really bad knee arthritis. When I was juicing celery three months I was walking 2-3 hours at a time with my Pitbull. I should never have stopped. I fell a few weeks back on both knees because of a broken sidewalk and I can't bend my right knee to walk. Weird that I can bend and sit sideways but not to walk. It was just time consuming to juice but I'm gonna start again. Going to try Apple Cider Vinegar tonight, praying it helps a bit by morning.

At the age of 55, my joint pain was severe, after a MRI revealed that there was a bone spur in my knee and Arthritis everywhere, pain killers was the only option from the Doctor. I bought some Chanca Piedra to get rid of the bone spur. In two days, the 20 years of joint pain was gone. In a wellness checkup in spring of 2016, my Doctor asked what I was doing because my Cholesterol, blood pressure and A1C numbers were also back to normal. I have shared this with many friends and relatives and they also are pain free. There is a new arthritis supplements that has combined Chanca Piedra and Magnesium Chloride to beat this horrible illness!!

I started using black cherry juice, one cup a day, back two years ago. I can't take arthritis meds so I was desperate. It took about two months for me to realize that something was working. The cherry juice reduced swelling and, consequently, reduced pain! I make sure to drink it very slowly and on an empty stomach since I am convinced that it works best that way. It's too bad that most people just look at me like I'm nuts when I try to get them to drink cherry juice and quit their meds. There are times although when I might strain a muscle exercising and I take a pain reliever but only on rare occasion.

Drinking cherry juice before bedtime puts me to sleep also! I can feel myself relax and fall asleep much faster without medications.

My mother has tried various things to treat Arthritis but nothing worked well enough till she heard from someone else that 6 cherries a day works to fix it. (I have heard cherries are effective at fixing gout too) She tried it with near perfect success, she has to keep taking them but as long as she does she is pain free.

She has told other people and they have had success.

It was noticed that my aging cat was no longer willing to jump up on the arm of my chair and would take longer to get up in the morning, it is defiantly arthritis. So I mushed up some cherries into hit cat food which he happily ate and after a week he was freer and freer and found it easier and easier to jump up.

While fresh organic cherries are obviously the healthiest canned or bottled cherries and the surrounding cherry juice works fine even with the added sugar and is cheaper and can be obtained year round without great expense.

I have also heard of someone who took 1 tsp of Turmeric a day for 5 days and wiped out their Arthritis for good.

But I must give Cherries the highest marks for being enjoyable, amazingly effective and cheap/easy.

She's right about cherries. I'm not sure if 6 are enough, but cherries are very anti-inflammatory.

Can you [or anyone pls clarify? Turmeric what? Tincture perhaps? One Tsp would seem to indicate a fluid but it can also be chopped fine out of the fresh root!

I have been a Turmeric fan for several years since I discovered that the Tincture will eradicate 'phantom itches' in minutes. I also use it in raw plant form; a great herb!

Wm

EC: Poster from 2009 probably used turmeric powder.
