I haven't had the time to watch the movies yet but I read a book a while ago which was awfully interesting, called The Cancer Industry and which I think that I reviews on the book review page. It really puts things into a different prespective! It is an account of the many therapies that have been banned, including the use of Vit. C researched by twice Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling and how the cancer industry works. One can't help getting tears in one's eyes while reading that book while thinking about the suffering of loved ones (who hasn't lost someone to cancer! ) and the struggle of all those who wanted to contribute to diminish that suffering but instead ended up being persecuted in the name of money and big business! I often wonder how on earth things ever got to be this way, I really do! Only in a very evil planet.... Sorry! Or a planet with very evil people!

I just watched the Burzynski movie yesterday. I was going to post it here as well. I was very very impressed by this movie. I think everybody should watch it. People will better understand the politics happening in the world of farmaceuticals. It could also be of help to those who suffer from cancer.

One thing that wasn't too clear for me was how he could get a PhD degree in 1 year, straight out of medical school. That sounds a bit fishy to me.

I put forward Andrew Weil's view on Burzynski to caution those with the belief that he has a cure.. Yes has helped some it seems but those are the voices that we are hearing... There are many... (just like chemo), that he hasn't helped, though charged a bundle! , try to look at the information objectively...

According to the movie - Doctor Burzynski has a cure rate of about 25% on INCURABLE brain cancers. Traditional treatment cure rate is about 1%.

He is not saying he can cure ALL cancer. His treatment has no side effects... where as chemo and radiation have massive and horrid side effects. I see no harm in allowing people to make their own choices on the treatment they would prefer.

It is shocking that in this country the government spent 60 MILLION of our taxpayer dollars trying to shut this wonderful, and NOBLE man down. It makes my skin crawl.

The fact that they could not find any of Burzynski's patients that would file any complaints agains him speaks to his character and his practise. On the contrary - his patients showed up to support him at grand jury after grand jury - from all parts of the country, as they owed their lives to his treatment.

In my opinion ~ The FDA and the NCI should be criminally prosecuted for their actions.... what they did was and still is undeniably CRIMINAL.

Please, watch the movie (if you haven't yet - which I am assuming you have not by your statements) before you say more on the matter of Burzynski.

Just imagine how far research on a cure for ALL CANCERS could have been by now if the FDA had not spent so much time (and money) trying to shut down Dr. Burzynski, and if they had embraced and supported him instead.

I can come to only one conclusion - Our government does NOT want to find a cure for cancer. There is too much money in NOT finding a cure. (MO)

Dr. Burzynski and all the others, there have been great people totally committed towards helping all those who suffer with cancer but as you said..... Governments (not only yours, unfortunately, don't forget that the world is globalized... ) don't want the cure to be found, just as they don't want us to know that what they preach will only make us sicker and sicker. That is the way things are! It all makes me furious as well and I weep for those who have died and who suffer from cancer as I weep for their loved ones! I lost two of my grandparents and my mother to cancer as well as my mother-in-law and I saw my sister-in-law suffer from it (luckily that was many years ago and although she had two different kinds she is ok). When will things change?

If you have the opportunity please read The Cancer Industry, it is such an inspiring book...... It helps put the whole charade into perspective! Money speaks louder than health and happiness!

I agree ~ Dr. Pauling was a brilliant, brilliant man, and he was persecuted relentlessly as well.

The big pharma companies have too vested of an interest in keeping their patented cancer "therapies" (ha! ) up and running. If (God forbid! ) someone actually came up with anything resembling a cure - well, they would lose BILLIONS per year. Oh there is no humanity. These people will (I hope) have some price to pay, be it Karma, Hell, or whatever Diety is out there that makes the world go round.

But I digress, I am rambling... Sorry. ;)

It takes a special type of person to keep on perservering when all is against them for so many years. Dr. Burzynski went through so much. It is amazing he made it to the other side without having a stroke or a heart attack from the stress he was placed under for so very long. Talk about mental duress!

I will look for "The Cancer Industry" the next time I shop books online. It sounds very interesting.

Carly thanks for the information... So, with this particular type of brain cancer, Childhood Glioma, with a 1% conventional success rate... Burzynski might be worth a look into with his claimed.. 27%... (27% is not a cure, it is a success rate). Francisca... A little dissent is not complete dissent, I am getting the impression you would like to burn me at the stake and claim your curing my toe fungus... I respect Weil, not everything he says is written in stone, he is somewhat conservative in the alternative field and needs to be with such a following, and admits to error and often revises what he says in the face of new information. That quote he made back in 2006 perhaps he might revise it with new information. In the future we will most likely look back at chemo as barbaric though it has helped many and many it has failed..

Re the childhood glioma - If the cancer is gone for 5 years, I do believe that is in fact considered a "cure" rate.

Children who develop this particularily nasty type of cancer and receive the standard treatment are usually dead within 24 months as I understand it. ~Unless~ they are that lucky 1% and get to spend the rest of their lives deaf, with burned off ears and hair that will never gow back along stunted growth. Mind you, that wouldn't probably feel very lucky, and their quality of life would suck, but hey - they made the one percent!

I know that if it were my child, I would jump at the chance of a 27% cure rate with Dr. Burzynski over the standard protocol of chemo which disfigures, deafens, and basically tortures a child with this dreaded and deadly cancer for a 1% (actually I believe it was a little less than one percent, but why split hairs) success rate.

Chemo and radiation are therapies honed and developed back in the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's.... And they ARE barbaric in my opinion. By this time, there SHOULD have been something better to offer.

They make LOTS of $$$$$$$ though.

Rob, you are entitled to your own opinions, that goes without saying! I don't claim to be in possession of the truth, I just try to get as much information as I can and then form my opinions! I wouldn't burn you at the stake.... I am not the violent kind! I was even planing to read a few books by Weil but right now I think that I will pass!

Anyway, as far as revising opinions, I believe that even Linus Pauling would have revised a few if he had lived a few more years! We have a certain opinion at a certain time which doesn't mean that we would have evolved in a very different way later on! To me, even a therapy which only cures a few percent of the people and maybe gives a better life to quite a few is worth trying because any lives saved with good quality of life are worth it, especially if it is a therapy with little or no side effects and there is nothing else available! The problem is that many of this therapies were never developed any further for lack of support and founds. Who knows where they would be right now if intead of having to fight heavy opposition the people concerned had got all the support they deserved? Think about that!

so getting back to the Burzynski movie... I've watched a good part and don't dispute what is shown but question it on what isn't shown.... Why don't they interview the 73% whom it didn't work for... But how could they because they're dead.. With around 30 to $60, 000 less to pass on to their loved ones.... The video is not objective but a slanted infomercial... Thus, I wouldn't put Burzy on a pedestal with the cure for cancer, however that said, I wouldn't rule him out, especially if I or someone has a terminal cancer for which his success rate might prove more successful than conventional approach... Though it would take more information than a sell video like this for me to make up my mind.... To this I add, Francisa what is your point? are you recommending everyone with cancer go visit Burzy and spend the $50 grand without question?

You say you have watched "a good part" of the Burzynski movie. Until you have watched the enire movie, there is no way you can have all of the information necessary to comment in an informed manner. (As your post shows to be true).

If I am reading what you are saying correctly, you are saying that if you had a child with a glioma brain cancer you would tell that child - sorry, your life is not worth 60k?

I would take a chance at the 25% Burzynski protocol offers over the 1% that the FDA meds give in a heartbeat. No hesitation.

Yes, I agree - a 25% CURE rate - 5 years cancer free - does mean that 75% would either be still alive with cancer or dead. This is simple math. Just as a 1% cure rate means that 99% would either still be alive with cancer or dead. It is silly to suggest that the Burzynski movie talk to dead people. They make no bones on what their numbers are at his clinic. His numbers are FAR superior to the standard protocol of chemo and radiations. You can't dispute the numbers.

Also - if the clinical trials for Dr. Burzynski were not sabotaged by the NCI perhaps by this time his protocols WOULD be standard practice and WOULD be covered by insurance.

The doctor HAS to charge for the medicine he is manufacturing. He is not running a free clinic - he would not be able to help anyone if he couldn't produce the medicine. You keep attempting to make it sound like he is a scam artist out to bilk people out of their money. This is simply incorrect.

I do, and will continue to put Doctor Burzynski up on a pedestal - a very, very high one. He is an amazing, brilliant scientist, who at great peril to his own well being continued to help people even when being mercelissly prosicuted by our government. That man is a saint in my opinion.

Still there is concern for those that have lost both their life and life savings and whether they have been taken advantage of in a desperate time. I repeat, that his therapy is worth looking into especially if the trials show a better success rate over conventional therapies... I may not share your enthusiasm but I am not in opposition either... Yes, I watched it all the way through... Compelling, yes, but made by a long time advertising director who knows how to make his emotional point, & as a documentary it is incomplete... I would have liked to have seen people from the FDA or NCI interviewed to get their opposing point... Also a few interviews from families whom it didn't work for, as well as some critics.... Aside from this the basic numbers are compelling. Most important.. Even at 15% over 0% (see Dr. Oz interview attached) it is reason enough for it to be supported and further researched..

If the numbers are correct and this seems to be the case Dr's should be advising their patients that his therapy is their best hope for these particular cancers... Yes, good for you Rob for being willing to keep an open mind. Personally, I stopped reading Dr. Weil quite awhile back because I found that he tended to sit on the fence on a lot of issues not wanting to rock his very big following in the "mainstream" audience. I prefer Dr. Mercola who will go right to the point and also Deepak Chopra. Dr. Mark Hyman is another who really goes to the heart of the matter on major issues that seem to plague many but there appears to be no answers for them by the medical field other than drugs to cover them up. Still, I understand that Dr. Weil serves a purpose- those deeply steeped in the mainstream medical world will listen to what he has to say thereby, allowing another point of view for them to consider.

Thanks Lisa, I undestand your position on Weil. His advice is mostly backed by clinical trials and epidemiology which is quite sound but leaves out cutting edge science like in the case of Burzynski and many others for whom testing is out of reach. That said, he still encourages mind body medicine which is difficult to measure. So Carly, he has come down from my pedestal a couple notches and Burzynski has gained a few...:)

The method employs dichloroacetate, which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders. So, there is no concern of side effects or about their long term effects. This drug doesn't require a patent, so anyone can employ it widely and cheaply compared to the costly cancer drugs produced by major pharmaceutical companies. Canadian scientists tested this dichloroacetate (DCA) on human's cells; it killed lung, breast and brain cancer cells and left the healthy cells alone. It was tested on Rats inflicted with severe tumors; their cells shrank when they were fed with water supplemented with DCA. The drug is widely available and the technique is easy to use, why the major drug companies are not involved? Or the Media interested in this find? In human bodies there is a natural cancer fighting human cell, the mitochondria, but they need to be triggered to be effective. Scientists used to think that these mitochondria cells were damaged and thus ineffective against cancer. So they used to focus on glycolysis, which is less effective in curing cancer and more wasteful. The drug manufacturers focused on this glycolysis method to fight cancer. This DCA on the other hand doesn't rely on glycolysis instead on mitochondria; it triggers the mitochondria which in turn fights the cancer cells. The side effect of this is it also reactivates a process called apoptosis. You see, mitochondria contain an all-too-important self-destruct button that can't be pressed in cancer cells. Without it, tumors grow larger as cells refuse to be extinguished. Fully functioning mitochondria, thanks to DCA, can once again die. With glycolysis turned off, the body produces less lactic acid, so the bad tissue around cancer cells doesn't break down and seed new tumors.

Pharmaceutical companies are not investing in this research because DCA method cannot be patented, without a patent they can't make money, like they are doing now with their AIDS Patent. Since the pharmaceutical companies won't develop this, the article says other independent laboratories should start producing this drug and do more research to confirm all the above findings and produce drugs. All the groundwork can be done in collaboration with the Universities, who will be glad to assist in such research and can develop an effective drug for curing cancer. I found that The Camelot Cancer Care in Tulsa, Oklahoma has been recommended by many. They do treatments that are intravenous DMSO-based.

I would like to start off by saying this is a great site. I had stage 1 hypertension (142 over 92), and after reading about Apple cider Vinegar, my blood pressure is now normal (115 over 80). My question is about oxygen therapy and how it acts towards cancer. I always heard that if a person goes under the knife for cancer, and the doctors open them up to remove the cancer, then the cancer would spread due to being exposed to the oxygen. Is this true? If a person starts a oxygen therapy because they think that they have cancer, would that help the cancer to spread or would it actually kill the cancer?

I'm not an expert but I have done a great deal of research on cancer. One theory that I tend to lean towards is that tumors are not part of the cancer but a creation of the body in an attempt to contain the cancer cells(which explains why all the attempts to destroy the tumor do so much damage to the body--->the tumor is part of the body). So to answer your question...

IMO oxygen cannot ignite cancer into a faster rate of growth. Cancer cells do not thrive in an oxygen rich environment so logically oxygen therapy can only be beneficial. Also, In my opinion, the reason for cancer spreading so quickly after a biopsy or exploratory surgery is due to the stress these procedures put on the body when it is already in a depressed state that allowed the cancer to develop in the first place.

Francisca, if you have a lot of cancer in your family, you should get the DVD's or watch the movies online. You can also watch on Youtube a lot of information from Charlotte Gerson. Then you find out about this wonderful therapy. The book: "Healing the Gerson way" is guiding you or any cancer patient in doing the therapy at home. It is very good but only if you have already decided to do it. The lifestory "Healing the hopeless" is a great read about Dr. Gerson's life. As to his therapy you can find a lot online. His program has worked on countless cases. It has convinced me from the start. (By the way, I was born in Offenburg, close to Alsace)

When I said that I have a lot of cancer in my mother's family I didn't mean that they are still alive, unfortunately, they all died, my mother included, therefore my interest in cancer therapies just in case! I will surely look into those books (I have a long list of books I want to read) and I am currently watching the DVD online (Donna, I think, gave me the link, many thanks for that! ). Nice to hear you were born not far from here.... We live near Switzerland and Germany because my husband works in Basel. I am Portuguese and he is Welsh but we will be moving to the South West of France in the near future as he will be retiring!

So many people around us are sick of cancer or have just recently died. But a cure of cancer is available since 1920. Dr. Max Gerson, a german physician found a cure. As an alternative holistic physician, he mostly was sent people who were in the last stages of cancer and were sent home to die. At a last resort they tried his cure. And he cured 50 % of those people whose immune systems were already heavily damaged by the "treatments" given to them. His cure can be done at home with the help of a book explaining it and the food which has to be eaten and supplements and a program for detoxification. It is a demanding program where one has to drink hourly fresh prepared juices and follow a strict diet. One can also go to a clinic in Mexico or Spain and get treatment for a few weeks. One has to do this program for 1.5 years to 2 years to fully restore one's liver.

This is a truly remarkable program not only for curing cancer but also for curing degenerative diseases and increasing overall health. I am personally using the Gerson program in a less demanding form (only 3 to 4 juices a day and one coffee enema) and I am overjoyed that I can eat very well and keep my weight, even slowly losing some. This was a problem for many years.

Hi Gabriele, I was interested in the DVD "Dying to have known" but at least on Amazon it only exists in American format, not in the European so I can't buy it. I have no idea where you are as I have never heard of Hilo but do have any information on this? It is too bad that they have several formats because sometimes I would also like to buy an exercise DVD and I can't as it only exists in American format!

Even though I do not have cancer, it is hard to not know a relative or a friend who does. However I believe in curing cancer with raw foods and enema. Please research Dr Max Gerner, a Dr whom Einstein called a genius and who cured cancer patients with an almost raw food diet. Juicing and coffee enema. There is a clinic in Mexico where they cure any type of cancer there, that way. I cannot stress more than most of cancer are food related. Cooked foods are hard to digest, no other animals eat the way we do. The enzymes which help digestion are killed in the process of cooking food. Also the body has to recode the food that was altered by the heat. Once again not to mention pesticides, hormones, etc... All this adds up to weaken our imune system, and the body tries to process and heal, but ends getting overwhelmed year after year. Please research raw foods and cancer

I've never read such BS in my life... You speak of foods as if they were medicine and if this were the case then a lot more people would be cured and the local cancer agencies would be promoting this relatively cheap means of combatting cancer. Lets be real, surgery is best, radiation and chemo are next and a health diet will help mitigate the effects of the cancer but will NOT cure it.

The mole rat is the only mammal presently known not to get cancer.. This is due to a gene p16.. This gene stops cells going into the prolific growth mode. In fact its almost impossible to grow mole rat cells in the lab. The funny thing is that garlic also slows down cell growth. It's been proven that regular garlic ingestion protects against bowel and lung cancer.. It also cleans heavy metals from environmental polution from the body this is proven.. But it's only down in folk medicine land that these things will be aired. Simply because you can't patent a vegetable and make money out of it.

I think that chemotherapy and surgery sometimes only make things worse. I say this after having read a few books on the treatment of cancer! I would advise you to read as much as you can. Actually I would advise everybody to do like me and get the information before you or a loved one are ill because afterwards one tends to make decisions very fast and you don't have the time to get informed! Your doctor is not at all the best person to inform you. Maybe this stricks you as odd but they are only allowed to tell you what the system allows them to say. Some good books are:

The you will understand how the establishment works. I am not saying I would never choose chemotherapy or surgery but if I did I would prefer to know my options! I lost my mother to cancer because she didn't have any other options! Good luck!

I would like to know if it would be ok to put the tannic acid powder into empty gelatin capsules and then just swallow those capsules with a glass of water?? Or would this method decrease tannic acid's effectiveness against cancer?

My mother has stage IV triple negative breast cancer and she wants to add the tannic acid to her current protocol but she gets diarrhea fairly easily so she doesn't want to take the sorbitol with the tannic acid if at all possible. Or does the tannic acid have to be mixed with something that has a laxative effect in order for it to be effective?

Just a note to let you know that Dr, Tulio Simoncini, an Italian doctor has a cure for cancer using bicarbonate of soda. No side effects and no pain. Look him up on the web. One lady had cancer in both breasts and is free of it today. It had even gone to her lungs. She is totally healed. Good luck!

A friend asked me to research anything that could help her increase her appetite that has disappeared due to taking Tamoxifen and other meds to hold cancer at bay. She said she is starving to death because she can't eat. I noticed Fenugreek but one feedback note said it increased estrogen so that sounds like a bad idea for my friend. Any suggestions?

If she has lost her appetite please get her to a Medical Marijuana facility. She can either smoke it or eat it in a brownie, because this herb will stimulate her appetite! It does so many good things like lessen pain anywhere, and if your stress level is noticable it will bring it down to the level it should be at.

I can't vouch for the credibility of the information, but I learned a lot about cesium chloride via a site called the cancer tutor. Google it. The site usually comes up on top of the list. I think there is a link for finding a vendor, as well as general information.

It appears that treatment with cesium chloride will need to vary by the weight of the person, as well as type of cancer, the density of the cancer, and so on. Also, it appears that it's very important to do research before buying any product. I do not have any affiliation with information about this or products related to this in any way, however, I would recommend a google search for "tutor cesium chloride".
