Natural Fever Remedies: Safe & Effective Relief

When I was a kid my aunt who raised me used to do just that but she used the whole egg one in each sock then another sock over that with plastic bags over that and I'd sleep with them on next morning fit as a fiddle!! I'll never forget it nor have I ever seen anyone else use it!! Guess it's an old Portuguese fishermen remedy!! From what I remember

Yes, I believe you can. I learned about this from my mom who was a nurse. One of my children was quite ill as a baby and toddler. He would run crazy high fevers that were unresponsive to almost everything except high doses of a combination of advil and tylenol, and even that was not foolproof. At my mother's suggestion, I finally wound up putting a couple of raw eggs in a bowl and soaking my son's feet in it. Within 15-20 minutes the fever broke. It worked every single time and became the go to remedy in my house for breaking high fevers.

I cracked an egg into a bowl, dipped a piece of paper towel in the egg and wet the bottom of his feet, then proceeded to wrap his feet in cling film and put his socks on. Within 10-15 minutes his dangerously high temperature had dropped significantly. He felt a lot better, said he didn't feel as warm and was no longer nauseated.

Unfortunately his fever did not go away entirely, because I don't believe I soaked his feet enough, but it did drop to a safer temperature and allowed him to finally fall asleep.

I had two plastic surgery procedures, on the third day my fever was so high I felt faint I did not want to go the ER so I whipped up four egg whites in a bowl put my feet on a towel put the egg whites all over my feet put my feet in large zip lock put a loose rubber band over my feet, WOW my fever began to drop and I feel asleep with bag on my feet and the next day I did it again no more fever!! Of course people need to know if they are allergic to eggs, before trying this.

I tried socks soaked in egg whites with my feet on a ceramic plate with egg white in it plus ACV on wash clothes on my forehead and belly (together) for 30 min. My temperature went down from 99.4 to 98.25 (my regular temperature is around 97). The two together helped a lot! Thought: Why not just use a plate with egg whites and no socks?

Thank you thank you...... I was all alone and my fever kept rising. It got to 103.5 and I started to worry, OK maybe freak out. Found your remedy of egg whites on your feet and as bizarre as it sounded I tried it and within 15 minutes my fever was down to 102.8. Another 20 minutes and it was down to 100.8. I am trying the egg white remedy right now with my brother, he has a urinary infection, his temp was 101 when we started, it is now 99.5. It has been 2 hours so far since starting. It does work with an infection. We will get antibiotics tomorrow but this is helping keep his temp down for tonight. Glad I found this site!

We woke up and the fever had spiked to 103.4, immediately I logged on to do a search for a natural remedy that would lower fever. I encountered the post on the egg whites, so I decided anything was worth giving it a try. In three to four minutes the temperature dropped to 99... And his whole body went back to normal. I also did an egg rubbing, which is something my grandma always did. I followed it with a prayer...... And surely he is fast asleep and BETTER... I will repost tommorrow see how he continues...

Just tried egg whites on my husbands feet about an hour ago. Wet paper towels with the egg whites and apply to feet. This brought his fever down from over 102 to 100. 9 in 30 minutes. Never thought this would work but was amazing. Thanks so much for everyones imput on the site about this help.

I had plastic surgery rhinoplasty/ chin implant, the second day I had a high fever I actually thought when I was laying down I was hallucinating from the fever. I thought we would end up in the ER for the night. I realize high fever needs to come down asap. I looked up earthclinic and tried the egg whites. I broke three organic eggs and used the whites put in some white cotton sock put them on and wrapped two plastic bags over it my feet and I also took a clove of garlic to kill any infection that might cause a fever. I sat outside on our deck in a cool breeze . And in 15 minutes my body began to cool down and came back in our house. I was fine and just went to sleep .
