The worst symptom of my gastroparesis is severe acid reflux. Before I had GP I regularly drank a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar for stomach and colon health. I think my GP was triggered during a hysterectomy two years ago. That's when all symptoms started. Now everything I did for good gut health is off limits. Not only what I used to eat but the ACV burns terribly, plus the doctor told me not to drink it because of the reflux. Still, he refuses to repair my extremely weakened lower esophageal sphincter -- says that wouldn't be a good idea because my stomach doesn't empty and I think he believes the repair might be compromised by delayed stomach emptying. Does anyone else have this symptom? I could deal with the nausea, bloating and constipation. It's the reflux that is life-altering. I have food come up in my throat while I'm standing straight up, even when I've eaten small bland meal.
