Last night I was reading on ACV/Honey, ACV/baking soda for sleep disorders. Decided to give it a try. I took ACV/Honey one teaspoon each in a cup of warm water at 9.09pm. By 9.30pm I started winding down and by 10pm, I was fast asleep. I had FEWER disturbance. My problem earlier was to get back to sleep if i am disturbed and that happened frequently. This seemed to work pretty good and I woke up real fresh.
I began using acv a few weeks ago at a small dose of 1 tsp. per day. After two weeks I noticed I was sleeping better and that my dreams were better. Rather than dark and heavy, my dreams were becoming more and more light-hearted. I actually woke myself up laughing the night before. I don't know if I can attribute this to acv, but I suppose it's possible.
Better But With Side Effects
I feel I sleep better when taking ACV and since I have a problem with high blood pressure it is helpful in that regard also. I do have a problem though, whenever I take it for awhile, like 3 or 4 days I get constipated. Do you know why? Lately I have been taking it by itself, I don't like it with juice or water, however, I could go back to taking it that way.

I don't usually write anything back but after taking the apple cider vinegar I felt I had to. I have had very very very bad acid reflux that has gotten worse over the yrs. to the point that it seems any food as soon as it is in my mouth I start with the burning burning burning. Belching....my husband says I do this all night long. I could not sleep flat any longer for I would just throw up in the middle of the night. Not to mention I have not had much sleep for I could NOT eat 4-5 hrs before going to bed! I had trouble swollowing, and have a constant cough, that I have been told could be cancer of the asophegus? When I heard that... I started taking the acv, that very night I slept "normal" and the next morning I had a good bm (which is another problem) Within a few days all my symptoms were gone and it has cured several other ailments as well not to mention loosing weight! I hate the stuff (taste) but you can't ignore the miracle it is. I just think more people should be talking about this simple remedy for sooo many things, what else could it do? I think the list goes on and on. ps. My ph level used to say "consult a physician" to now being normal. I have more energy too!
I came across your website while desperately searching for a cure for a severe sinus infection. The ACV helped tremendously. Another amazing plus is that I sleep so well since taking it. I have been suffering from acid reflux for about 8 years .I have been to the doctor and have been on all of the prescription ppi drugs,currently on prilosec otc.I always had to back them up with tums ,Rolaids ect.None work for the long term. Tried ACV two nights ago seems to work. I have also for the last year been having problems sleeping, which then gave me migraines. I had my best sleep in two years the last two nights. Don't know if the ACV had any thing to do with that , but I love the side effect.
Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with one cup of honey and store this mixture in an air-tight container. Anytime you have trouble drifting off, take two teaspoons of this mixture and you'll drift off in less than a half hour. And you won't be groggy in the morning like over-the-counter sleep aids.
I have mixed honey and ACV together and taken it as a sleep aid. Made me drowsy. You guys have a great website here!
I never had trouble sleeping until I got older(50 plus).. For ten years now, I would go to sleep for two hours then wake up for several hours. I discovered by listening to a naturopathic doctor on the radio that the culprit was the digestive system. Before bedtime I put a pinch or two (about 1/8 TSP.) of baking soda into 1-2 tsps. of ACV until the fizzing stops. Add about a half cup of water. Unbelievable results on my sleeping issue. No more waking up during the night, but if I do, I am able to go right back to sleep. This remedy is a God-send.
I've tried 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar plus 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda remedy (mixed into 1 cup hot water) for insomnia for the past 2 nights. I have no idea why, but it seems to be working. Both nights, I fell asleep within 10 minutes of going to bed, whereas I usually don't fall asleep for 4- 6 hours, or until the sun comes up. My question is, can I take this mixture every night for insomnia, or do I have to take days off? From the ACV + Baking Soda recipe page, the instructions appeared to be take for 5 days on and 2 days off, but those were listed under an instruction for people with Acid Reflux, so I don't know if the 5 days on/2 off is for everybody or only for people with Acid Reflux. I am 48 yrs old and have suffered from severe insomnia for 9 years. I have taken ambien sleeping pills for the last 5 years just to get a good night sleep. I started taking apple cider vinegar and baking soda for eczema and it CURED my insomnia. I mean totally cured. No more sleeping pills and I am not exaggerating when I say I sleep like i did in my 20's. At first my skin felt like it was burning for a couple of days then when it was gone so were many ailments. My herbalist friend Bonnie Rogers suggested this treatment for insomnia. It works GREAT. 7 parts of Apple Cider Vinegar to 2 parts of Milk of Magnesia (MOM). Doing 3 parts ACV to 1 part of MOM means that the mixture is more basic and taste pretty bad. If you increase the ACV then it becomes more acidic and tastes better. And anyway, ACV is just plain good for the body. Adding water is fine. I sip a large cup of watered down ACV MOM through out my day and I sleep fine. Of course, if you get too much magnesium, then your stools tend to fall apart; this tells you to pull back on so much magnesium.
Also, yogi types have suggested inverted poses for insomnia. I added the plow and the shoulder stand to my usual yoga regime, and it greatly helped my insomnia.
So the combination of the ACV MOM and the inverted poses have completely solved my insomnia problem.
I have also discovered that a lack of sleep is inflammatory.
I see that many people are combining ACV with baking soda (or bicarbonate of soda). This means that they are adding sodium to their diet. This is either bad or neutral, depending upon the person. But if one adds magnesium hydroxide (Milk of Magnesia) to ACV, one is adding magnesium to one's diet, which is either good or neutral. And the MOM helps to neutralize the ACV. Adding Milk of Magnesia to ACV works much better than adding baking soda. Magnesium is a part of about 800 different reactions in the body, in particular enzyme reactions.
2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with a teaspoon on honey in warm water before bed, along with magnesium, niacinamide, tumeric, vitamin C, and occasionally 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. Has helped with lifelong insomnia problem.
Also important is to reduce naps during the day and focus on a quieting image when going to bed. Very important to find a way to calm the mind -- a form of prayer.
I don't expect a perfect night's sleep every night and am usually relieved with the improvement in sleep. Will still awaken after 3=hour sleep cycle but am able to drift back off pretty quickly and sleep till morning.

For me, its not eating a bannana before bed, rather incorporating bannanas into my diet. If I eat 1 or 2 a day I can fall asleep with no problems whatsoever.
Try eating a banana at bedtime. My stepfather suggested this when a girl he knew had a hard time sleeping after getting into drugs. I tried it & it worked!!
