Acoustic Neuroma: Natural Holistic Cures

| Modified on Jul 28, 2023

An acoustic neuroma is a benign tumor that's found on the nerve that leads from the patient's brain to his or her inner ear. Although it grows slowly and is non-cancerous, it can cause symptoms like tinnitus and an unsteady gait. In unusual cases, it can cause deafness.

Treatment for Acoustic Neuroma

One type of acoustic neuroma treatment besides watchful waiting is a type of operation called a stereotactic radio surgery. This surgery is performed on acoustic neuromas that are growing. The surgery doesn’t use a scalpel, but the doctor treats the tumor with a very accurate and targeted dose of radiation. The patient’s head is held immobile in a frame and the radiation is delivered to the neuroma. The goal is to preserve the patient's hearing, stop the tumor from growing and prevent nerve damage which can lead to partial facial paralysis. The results of this treatment might not be seen for a long time.

Another kind of acoustic neuroma treatment is to have it removed surgically. The patient is put under general anesthesia and the tumor is removed either through the ear or through an opening made in the skull. Depending on the size of the tumor, the doctor may or may not be able to remove all of it.

Home-based acoustic neuroma remedies probably would have no effect on the tumor itself. The best thing for the patient to do is to find support in friends, family and medical professionals and to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. Acoustic Neuroma Diagnosis

Posted by Diane (MN) on 09/24/2022

I was wondering If anyone had a diagnosis with anything other than an mri for the acoustic neuroma. I was told I could have one but they only offered an mri with the gadolinium dye, because of allergy issues and the fact that it is a toxic heavy metal that the fda admits some remains in the body afterwards, plus I'm very claustrophobic I passed on that.

Acoustic Neuroma:

In The Truth about Cancer, they talk about Frankincense oil shrinking tumors. Put on 3x a day especially at the back of the head at the base of the skull where it meets the neck.

I had one last year (MRI) was never told about the tumor but had been using the oil all over my face 2x a day all year for another ailment. This year's MRI showed no growth. Also my dizziness and imbalance are gone.

I will use it more now especially on the back of the neck.

Hope this helps.

I found there are more than one type of frankincense, found 3 different ones. Can you tell me what type you have or at least what brand if you don't know the type?

Magnetic Clay Baths

Posted by Lou (Tyler, Tx) on 12/30/2013

I was just wondering if Acoustic Neuroma could be helped by doing magnetic clay baths, since they remove radioactive particles from the body. Also, epsom salts and baking soda baths are detoxifying in this way. You can look up detoxifying baths and see which are applicable. How about bentonite clay packs applied to the area? Just a theory.

I have just been diagnosed with a vestibular schwannoma @ 2 cm. hoping for proton radio treatments rather than surgery. Does anyone know anything about the success of this?

I have not heard about the shitake mushrooms but I did find an article where they have done research on a natural plant product named Honokiol: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22057812.

I also have an acoustic neuroma/ vestibular schwannoma. I have been waiting since January for an appointment with a neurosurgeon, in the meantime I have done a lot of research. My symptoms have improved quite a bit.

I am no a doctor but hope this information helps you, if they happen to place you on a wait and watch.

Thanks, Laura. I hope you're doing well. Did you use the hokoniol? Could you tell me if it reduced the size of the AN and how much you were taking?

I just happened upon this possible remedy, and I'm going to get some right away. Here's one source of Honokiol, and I'll be looking at others and starting right away. https://dreliaz.org/formulas/honokiol/
