ACV and honey for migraines.

The other day one of my co-workers was sitting at her desk with her head lowered, cupping her forehead in one hand and massaging her head and neck with the other. I asked her if she was all right and she said I have a migraine. So I logged in to see what Earth Clinic has posted for migraines and saw the remedy of 2 Tbsp. of ACV and 2 Tbsp. of raw honey in a glass of water.

I asked if she usually takes something for it and she said she takes Excedrin but that she did not have any with her. So I told her that my #1 resource for natural healing recommends ACV and honey in a glass of water and told her that I had both of them if she would like to try it. She looked up at me and said let's do it. I mixed it up and she drank it. About 20 or 30 minutes later another co-worker asked her how she was feeling and she said she felt a lot better! And for the rest of the day she was her usual bubbly self.

What is particularly interesting about this is that I work for a tribal government and these folks are Native Americans who, for the most part, have lost or forgotten the old ways, replacing them with medical services provided by the federal government through Indian Health Services. But many of them have witnessed my journey and have come to me for help for themselves and for their animals. They are re-discovering that Mother Nature has provided all that we need!

Thank you to all who post on this website, you are changing and saving lives! Flower's Mom

Apple Cider Vinegar for migraines: A TRUE MIRACLE WORKER... ACV unpastuerized and Raw Honey has been a God sent. About 4 days ago I realized I forgot to get a refill for some anti depressants I have been taking for 2 1/2 yrs now for migraines and headaches. I needed to wait for my Dr. to approve the refill at the pharmacy which would have taken about 2 to 3 days. NOT GOOD. Anyone who is taking anti depressants know that you can not miss a day because the affects are horrific. As I was about to panic, I remembered Earth Clinic. The first day without my pills I was having a terrible migraine which I expected. I drank 2 tbsp ACV unpastuerized, 2 tbsp raw honey and 8 ounces of water (I warmed the water first, before I added the Apple Cider Vinegar and honey) Because my migraines are extemely bad I had to drink this MAGIC POTION 3 times in 2 to 3 hour increments. After the 3rd drink my migraine was gone completely. For the past 3 days I have been drinking this potion 3 times a day, breakfast, lunch and before I go to bed. I began to feel a slight headache yesterday because I was feeling soooo good that I thought my migraines were gone for good (silly me) and I was experiencing an increase of energy that I have not felt in years so I did not drink the potion for lunch and I began I feel a slight headache getting worse quickly. I made the potion and I could feel the headache go away within 15 to 30 minutes. I drank the potion this morning and lunch so far no headache. I will be drinking it again before I go to bed. I will be my new drink for many years to come... I say this drink is a true miracle worker.

Avoid MSG and Free Glutamates!

I've suffered 30yrs of on and off debilitating migraines. I've always experienced sickness and diarrhoea with the bad ones, difficulty speaking and emotional weakness. After I hit my mid 20s (now 40) I started having loss of vision before most attacks too, and increased vertigo more recently.

During covid lockdown I'd been cooking our food from scratch, just because I had more time and couldn't get to the supermarket. It then became apparent that I was only getting migraines after ordering Dominos pizza as a treat, like clockwork. This led me to research msg and omg what a difference! Msg is only the starting point, and I've been trying to avoid most processed food with glutamates added (or manufactured) under different names, as other posters have noted. It means no more takeaways for me, or restaurant food, but it's so so worth it. The only migraines I've had since are monthly hormonal ones and they've been mild headaches only. More recently I've been looking at whether I've got too much copper/slightly oestrogen dominant but that's another story.

I'd recommend that everyone avoids msg. Even if you don't have migraines, it's probably doing untold silent damage.

I've been vegetarian since I was a child and all those meat replacements are loaded with msg, and all the takeaways over the years must have done so much damage too. Still, onwards and upwards!

I hope this helps others out there xx

Nattokinase

I had debilitating trigeminal neuralgia. Let say pain score 1-10 I have had 15. Classic therapy Gabapentin 600 mg, Stugeron 50 mg, Diclofenac or either Naproxen, Magnesium bisglicinate gave me just temporary relief.

Then I took 200 mg of Nattokinase because it was throbbing in spite of all this and started in the middle of the night while I was sleeping, so to take all this again was a bit too much. After about 1 hr pain stopped. In the morning I had just a vague sensation of throbbing maybe 1-2 out of 10.

So I took 200 mg of Nattokinase more and NO PAIN. AND I DID NOT TAKE ANYTHING FROM THE LIST ABOVE.

I am so happy! I will continue to have Nattokinase 100 mg as a support for the next few days. I am an emergency physician myself and I can say this supplement is miraculous. In the way to replace Aspirin, but now with Elaine's 2011 post (nattokinase page), it saved my life. Thank you.

Magnesium L-Threonate

I've had chronic migraine for decades, not associated with medicine overuse nor unhealthy habits. Over the years I've tried most remedies without success. Propranolol as a preventive did seem to halve the frequency for the first year or two of use, at the heavy cost of lack of mojo and brain fog. But in the third year migraine days crept back up to 11/month. I experimented with increasing the dose a little but even 10 mg more caused disabling lethargy. By this year status migraine developed. I had some initial success in breaking that with a Cefaly device. This was expensive and again the efficacy waned after a few weeks.

The stated dose for Magnesium L-Threonate is 3 capsules a day. I tried just one at first, mid morning, with an additional sprinkle of magnesium citrate (400mg) daily with breakfast and within 2 days ,not only was the headache gone but also the brain fog. First clarity I've had in 3 years. I reduced the Propranolol gradually and so far so good. I've now had 2 weeks of clarity and only one mild headache. Early days but even two weeks off is a major breakthrough.

Cayenne

It is so wonderful that Cayenne pepper works for migraines, but it isn't just cayenne pepper, many different kinds of hot peppers work. My Dad's a fan of this remedy, he grows all sorts of hot peppers in his garden every year. This has made me do some research into the subject. I came upon some information which was very interesting, and it linked migraines with digestive problems.

It goes like this...

If you are not digesting your food properly, then it will sit in your stomach and rot, in more pleasant terms, it ferments. Needless to say, fermentation is the creation of gas. This gas is then absorbed into the bloodstream and when it reaches your head it expands resulting in a migraine. Now, the fun part is that when one consumes these hot peppers the heat will expel these gasses, and in turn, relieves the migraine. With that in mind, digestive aids, probiotics or simply mindful eating may do the trick to alleviate your problems on a more permanent and effective basis. I hope this information is helpful, I have found alot of helpful information on this site for myself, and simply wanted to give a bit myself.

Enema

I have always suffered from migraines and chronic headaches in general. The migraines last an average of 3 days of absolute misery. I got hit with a whopper a few days ago, so painful that I had nausea and vertigo with it. I prayed for an answer and had the thought that I might be toxic and thought of trying an enema. I had a simple saline packaged one in the bathroom so in agony forced myself to try it. Within 20 minutes the migraine started losing it's crushing grip. I feel asleep and when I woke up, it was gone. This is a first in 50 years. Never has anything relieved my migraine that fast ever before. Going to start detoxifying regularly this way. What a blessing.

CoQ10

I've been enduring migraines for over 20 years. They started after completing chemotherapy for Hodgkin's disease. Many of my migraines appear to be food sensitivities. I'm working on healing my gut….. but the other day I tried dates but they triggered a migraine. I had just received some CoQ10 I ordered and took 2, total 400 Mg. My migraine stopped within 30 minutes. I've tried other supplements, and medications but none were effective except Nurtec but it takes 2-6 hours to kick in and messes with my guts. So far I've only used CoQ10 once but it will be my go to first choice from here on out.

Cumin Seeds

Black Cumin oil is the beat all end all for Migraines and many other ailments. You can buy the black seed oil or black Cumin seeds black and black cumin mean the same thing.

There is the one post here on Earth Clinic about the seeds and the lady said her and her mother chew on the seeds. I take the seeds in a table spoon and just smash them w/ another table spoon then just drink water to swallow them. Eat them right off the spoon then make sure to lick the bottom of the other spoon drink at least 12 ounces of water relief is quick like the other woman said. Just a little easier and the seeds don't taste disgusting but they don't taste great either. I have been told by a friend of mine that has been taking Black Cumin for many years if you have the oil or crush the seeds and rub it on you temples and for head this also will help alot.

Soooo many uses for Black Cumin you should research it and be pleasantly surprised.

Apple Cider Vinegar

I normally take four peppermint oil capsules for a headache and add white willow bark if it gets out of hand, but when I woke up yesterday with a migraine, nothing was really working. I took two tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar with the mother with a spoon by mouth and within about an hour, the pain was reduced. It eventually went away almost completely. I will now use the ACV sooner in the course of a bad headache.

Thank you all so much for posting this info about ACV for migraines. One day a couple months ago I was hit hard with a very painful one with sinus issues too. Desparate because pain relievers didn't work, I thought, "well, one more google search. " I read your page, and following someone's story I: drank ACV water, started to feel better. Earlier I could barely walk. Then put some ACV in hot water and "steamed" my face over it for a few minutes, took an epsom salt bath, and felt almost normal after word. Took another "shot" of ACV water and I was good to go! What a relief! Now I drink a generous splash of ACV in water a couple times per day and haven't had a headache or migraine since I started doing that. Seriously, not making this up. Really grateful.

Have had maybe 4 episodes in 30 years so no expert but when they occur they're doozies. Yesterday AM I'm getting ready for work when my vision began to blur and got flashing. This was as bad as I've ever had and probably the worst symptoms ever. After determining it was a migraine attack I quickly jumped to Earth Clinic for what to do. Found the ACV mixture and immediately drank down about 3 tbs with water and honey. Laid down while covering my eyes as they were already super sensitive and felt nausia and the following headache beginning. Within a half hr I was up and around with only a somewhat upset stomach and a little woozie. By noon I was pretty much myself again.

Thanks again Earth Clinic, you'ved saved me from the pill dispenser once more!

Nettle

Turns out Nettle CAN help in the case of migraine.

My daughter had a migraine this week. She tried a couple of things but nothing was helping.

Finally, I suggested nettle tincture. She took one dose (one dropperful) and then 15 minutes later another dropperful. It didn't totally eliminate her headache but made it much more tolerable.

She hasn't taken nettle daily for quite some time, so I don't think it was a blood purifying effect as when daily use seemed to eliminate migraines.

I have noticed with my children that they have "go to" remedies. One responds well to coconut oil. I give it to him for everything.

This daughter responds well to nettle.

So, I think the moral of the story is, when nothing is working for what ails you, consider what remedies your body has responded well to for ailments in the past.

ORH here and my tractor driver has learned that keeping her magnesium up reduces her mirages. When she has one coming on her vision starts to go, so she takes more magnesium and puts ice on her neck. That normally works. I had them in my youth and no one knew what to do. I just got in the bed and cried. ====ORH====

Coriander Tea

Coriander is the seed of the Cilantro plant. The plant is Cilantro, the seed is Coriander. I had migraines for decades, since I was about 16. It was a misery that put me in bed with a bag of frozen peas on my head until I could go to sleep and "sleep it off". I would wake up with my whole head sore from the pain.

I read all of Hulda Clark's books and she said that migraines are caused by a microscopic wormlet called Strongyloides, commonly called threadworm. Horses and cats are their preferred hosts, and we get the worms from them. Women get migraines much more often than men, and its probably because we associate closely more often with cats than men do.

Dr. Clark said that Coriander would kill them and stop migraine headaches. I found some corroboration for this theory in some ladies who live in India and Pakistan. They take it in tea form and it dispels migraine for a long time. Its a common remedy there. I tried it and my migraines stopped.

If I am reinfected by being in close proximity to carrier cats or horses, the migraines will begin again. A couple of days of coriander tea, and goodbye migraines.
