Natural Skin Tag Removal: 7 Home Remedies for Skin Tags

The Tweezer Method

Another tweezer method for removing a skin tag is to grasp the tag and begin rotating the tweezers around in a circle to break the “stalk”. This can be tricky, as it requires coordination. Go about your life. In several days you will notice the skin tag has fallen off.

Avoid Sugar

I think you maybe right about the sugar and skin tags. I used to have some and they were itchy. I cut out using any sugar because of cancer and since then the skin tags have all gone away.

Apple Cider Vinegar

I've had what I can only assume to be an anal skin tag/sentinel tag for a few years now. it started off small, but gradually got bigger and I'm certain it's due to struggling to pass stool, so the skin stretched and never stretched back, leaving a hanging skin tag at the top of my anus.

Its not painful at all, has never been sore but it bothers me what it looks like down there!

I would never consider surgery and I'm far too scared to try anything like cutting it off or tying it off with thread or floss just in case it complicates and becomes worse, so I'm trying the apple cider vinegar method.

Day 1: I got a cotton wool pad and soaked in apple cider vinegar. I squeeze out excess and folded in half, small enough to fit over my anal tag.

I got a second clean, dry cotton wool pad and secured it over the top of the first. I then stuck it on with medical tape and kept it there for 1 hour.

I removed the apple cider pads every time I went to the toilet and re applied them. After 3-4 hours it started to sting a little which is when I took it off.

Results: I have not yet noticed any results but I am planning on repeating this process (maybe prolonging the tags exposure to the vinegar) everyday until I get results.

I will keep you updated! Wish me luck.

Garlic

Another home remedy for warts or skin tags is Garlic! A girlfriend of mine told me about the garlic a long time ago for warts. My daughter at that time had a really bad wort on the bottom of her foot. I tried the most popular wart removal agent fromthe pharmacy on it and they still didnt remove wart. I then tried the Garlic. Take a fresh slice of garlic preferably from the middle of the clove. Apply directly onto wart then cover the garlic slice that is on top of wart with bandaide. Making sure no area of wart or garlic is exposed. So put a second bandaide on top in opposite direction of first bandaide to make sure garlic doesnt fall off. Do this at night and leave on overnight. Wart should be gone by next day, if not repeat the following night. Guarentee it will be gone. The same can be done for skin tags! You will notice that it has shrunk in size by the next day. You most lijely need to repeat again until completely gone, depending on size of the skin tag. Hopes this helps others. This has been the most effective and cost efficient and least painful of all options.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Let me start off by saying that I don't usually look to home remedies and don't necessarily believe in all of them. Apple cider vinegar, however, has me totally convinced. Those who are looking for a skin tag remedy, look no more! After reading hundreds of posts on how to get rid of a skin tag without cutting it, I decided to go with the apple cider vinegar method.

Before I actually used the ACV, I played around with the skin tag for a bit, twisting it often. Eventually, the tip of the skin tag turned a little bit black. This was when I decided I really wanted to remove it. So, I took a cotton ball and applied some ACV on it (without diluting it), placed it on the skin tag, and covered it with a bandage. I slept with it on for the first night. After removing it, I began to see the skin tag turning gray. During the day, I covered it with a band-aid. The second day, I only applied the ACV for a few hours since it was irritating my skin. I took a day off from the ACV and applied it the following day for a few hours. During the times the ACV was not on my skin tag, I covered it with a band-aid. Eventually, the skin tag turned completely black and dry and it just fell off! No pain (except soreness from twisting it and the acidity from the ACV which lasts only a second)!

In all, it took me about one week for the skin tag to completely fall off.

Another YEA for ACV.... I had a very small skin tag on my neck - about the size of a grain of rice, if it was even that big.... It itched at times, and just knowing it was there made me a little nuts. I put some ACV w/the Mother on a cotton ball, covered it with a Band-Aid overnight and the next day the tag had turned dark but was still attached. It's been a couple of days and just now I realized the skin tag is gone! I can see the spot, still, where it was.... It's just a bit red, but the fact that it's gone makes me a happy kid!! EC is such a great forum for sharing ideas, I can't imagine not being able to tap the information offered here! Thanks to all who share.... Thanks to all who administer this site!

I have read on here so many great things about ACV! I want to explain how ACV worked for me for my skin tags. I have always had small skin tags on my neck and some around the thin skin at my ribs. Lately I noticed a cluster of about 6 tags on the left side of my neck just above my collar bone. Tags have never really bugged me, but this area sort of stuck out and my husband noticed it after I did and kinda wrinkled his nose at them. I remembered reading on here how people wrote how they would apply the ACV three times a day and some had some success, some didn't. I personally don't have the time or memory to make sure I did it throughout the day, plus my clothes would be in the way and wipe it away. So, I tried something different. Two nights ago I purchased large square bandaids. I used organic ACV and two cotton balls. I shook the ACV very well and dabbed the cotton balls and placed them in the center of the bandaide and placed it over the group of tags on my neck and went to bed. In the morning in the shower the bandaide came off without a fight. The first morning I noticed the tags getting darker. I have done this only FOR TWO NIGHTS, this morning in the shower I rubbed my neck just a little with my scrubby. I looked in the mirror and 3 OF THE TAGS WERE GONE! By the way, in this same area is a small mole, it has not been affected at all, only the tags. My skin is only slightly pink for about 30 minutes and then normal. I will continue this for another couple days till this area is clean, then move to the tags on my ribs. I will post again, i'm sure with further success!

Bandaid Method

I have read your posts. The thing that is removing the skin tag is the bandaid itself. I know.. Sounds crazy but, I read online that when you cover a skin tag it dies. I tried this on my husband's skin tags (and they were large (6mm)). We just changed the bandaid daily. Within the first 48hrs, the tag became grey. Then slowly, it started to deteriorate and 'deflate' so to speak. It would leave a little blood on the bandaid each day more and more until finally one day it was hanging on by a little thread. We put an ice cube on the remaining piece and then snipped it off. Whithin 2 days you couldn't see anything anymore.

The second time we didn't even need to snip it... It stuck to the bandaid. So save yourself the trouble and burning. Don't put anything except maybe a tiny amount of antibiotic cream to keep from infection during the process. But trust me... No burning iodine etc needed!

I have had skin tags removed by my doctor for years until recently - no health insurance and it's expensive. After doing extensive research online, and trying a variety of methods which did NOT work (clear nail polish, duct tape on the skin tage, etc. ) but rather served to additionally irritate the surrounding skin, I finally came across the ACV suggestion and tried it out of desperation. OMG - this stuff WORKS!!! I dipped a Qtip swap into some apple cider vinegar that I purchased from the local grocery store - (cost under a dollar) and applied it directly onto this huge skin tag - stung a teensy bit but oh well - I'm too much of a chicken to try the needle/thread/cutting options suggested. I applied it 2-3x/day and at night or whenever not having to appear in public, I would put a small round bandaid to cover it up due to its ginormous size. Verrrry quickly it started to diminish in size and now is not even there anymore - just a reddish spot that will fade away. I am utterly amazed and cannot wait to inform my Dr.when next I'm fortunate enough to see him, what an all-natural totally healthy method did for me in his absense. ;>) If any of you out there suffer from these pesky, unsightly things, by all means, run, not walk to your local grocery store and get an inexpensive bottle of ACV, good grief. I might even try including a couple of tsps in my hot tea - who know what else it might do for one, from the inside, based on all of these testimonials I'm reading.

Skin Tag Theories
Posted by Becky (Cottonwood, Az) on 09/06/2011

Skin tags are caused by too much sugar. Diabetics get a lot of skin tags and if you are hypoglycemic or hypothyroid you will see them appear when you over do the sugar. I don't know(or can't remember)why but my husband will get them when he is on an ice cream/sweet run; eating something sweet every night for a couple of months until he can break the habit and then tags will go away. I too have experienced this - usually around Christmas when more sweets are around. Most hypothyroidism leads to diabetis and heart disease. Check out Dr. Mark Starr's excellent book, Hypothyroidism type 2, The Epidemic.

Iodine

I used World Organic's potassium iodide on the skin tags on my neck, particularly on the largest two. The smallest of the two shriveled up and turned black and is about to fall off, the other one is tender to the touch. I'm going to see if a couple more applications will get it to shrivel. It's taken about 5 days of 2 apps per day for the smallest one to shrivel up. It's a relief! And I didn't need to go to a derm doc--even better!

I'm dabbing it directly with a swab, taking care not to touch the surrounding skin. The p. Iodide is clear ("white"), so I'm hoping it won't leave any stains. Since it looks like people are having quicker success with the Lugol's, I'll give it a try.

Too risky, too visible to try it on my face.

Thank you much!

Essiac Tea

Essiac Tea removes skin tags. I was drinking 2 ounces of brewed Essiac tea twice a day for 3 months and noticed that all the skin tags on my neck had just disappeared. I was taking Essiac tea just to boost my immune system. I had skin tags on my neck for about 5 years and was amazed that they just disappeared. Essiac tea is available on the internet in tea form, as tea bags, and in bulk (3 pound) herbs. When you buy in bulk the price is significantly less.
