Goat Milk Cures

| Modified on Aug 20, 2016

While cow’s milk is one of the most common daily drinks, it is also one of the main reasons individuals experience gastrointestinal distress and discomfort. Goat milk, on the other hand, is a much healthier alternative, particularly when it is raw and organic. In addition to constituting fewer allergies and digestive complaints, goat milk also offers a variety of other health benefits.

What is Goat Milk?

Goat milk can be described as the relatively opaque, fat enriched liquid derived from a female goat. That being said, this milk offers a variety of advantages over the more common form of milk on the market today. Generally speaking, goat milk is more easily digestible as well as less allergenic than cow’s milk. But, this liquid also offers a variety of other advantages.

Goat’s milk is comprised of ten grams of fat per eight ounce serving, and the milk does not contain agglutinin which makes it easier to process in the body. This milk also contains less of the allergenic protein casein and a greater amount of a more soluble protein, which speeds digestion of the milk. Likewise, goat’s milk contains less lactose than cow’s milk, offering at least some degree of relief for individuals who are lactose-intolerant.

Health Benefits of Goat’s Milk

Aside from even the aforementioned benefits, goat’s milk also has other advantageous characteristics. While the relative mineral content in cow’s milk and goat’s milk are similar, the latter contains more calcium, more vitamin B-6, and more vitamin A. Additionally, goat milk also possesses more potassium, niacin, copper, selenium and folic acid per serving.

With this array of nutrients as well as its more sensitive composition, goat’s milk possesses a variety of general health benefits and treatments. This milk is considered an anti-inflammatory agent as well as a metabolic booster. As such, it can be used to help alleviate intestinal issues and other inflammation of the body. It is also high in fatty acids, calcium and immune-boosting agents.

As it is currently still situated on the “fringe” of big agriculture, goat’s milk is considered both more nutritious and less toxic. Whether used as a milk alternative or a supplement, goat milk is a beneficial addition to any diet.

I was diagnosed with GERD and as a result took Protonix for 12 years. It got to where it wasn't working and I was told to take 2 rather than 1 pill a day. My daughter in law had just bought a La Mancha goat and began milking. I thought...why not? I began to notice my stomach was less irritated when I drank the goat milk. I ended up weaning myself off the Protonix by drinking the fresh goat milk over a period of several months and have never gone back. I had previously tried to stop taking Protonix on several occasions, even with the help of my physician, and wasn't able. I cannot say enough about the fresh goat milk! It healed my gut!!

We've raised dairy goats on a small scale for 33 years and all our nine children were raised on it. I attribute their dentist-verified strong straight teeth to the goat milk they drank as children.

Goat milk has small molecules, thus making it more easily digestible than cow milk. It is the closest nutritional alternative to mother's milk, if breastfeeding is not possible. Goat milk contains naturally occuring acidophilus (the good stuff in yogurt), which is greatly beneficial to a healthy digestive environment.

I know children plagued by continual ear infections who are free from those afflictions if they consistently consume goat milk. A woman who had received a diagnosis of osteoporosis successfully reversed the condition with two years of raw goat milk kefir added to her diet.

rnOften, people who think they are lactose intolerant really are cow milk intolerant or can't consume the emulsifiers used in cow milk products. My adult brother couldn't tolerate pasteurized homogenized cow milk, but raw cow milk was fine. One of our children tested intolerant of goat milk. After three chiropractic treatments to desensitize her, she could again consume goat milk.

Raw goat milk tastes much like raw cow milk, but with more body. Keeping goat milk cold prevents it from developing a strong flavor.
